Best Personal Blog Award
May 30, 2010 § 36 Comments
I finally have won the Best Personal Blog, hosted by CIO, Pakistan. Yahooo!!!
It’s truly been an honor and despite the fact that I was unable to make it to the ceremony and the UnConference, I truly regret it now that I’ve had a look at the pictures and read about it. It was trly an awesome event.
The official results of the awards can be found @ http://blogawards.pk/
The Tribune did an article on the blog awards @ http://tribune.com.pk/story/17124/pakistan-blog-awards-2010-awards-of-a-different-kind/
Here, let me pretend a little humbleness that the post is not meant merely at telling the world that I bagged the award :P It’s rather that I truly felt awesome when I got to know that I grabbed an award, especially after giving a look to the jury panel which comprised of many fine national and international personnel. It’s like….you keep writing on your blog and although I do it because I love writing and wish to speak my heart out on issues and notions, when someone comes up with any bit of recognition for those efforts, it really is a great feeling. That’s precisely what I felt.
Also, it was an event, first of its kind, in Pakistan that was about bloggers and blogging. And I really hope that CIO will continue to be a platform for arranging more of the event of such kind since blogging has proved to be a very dynamic dimension of citizen journalism for us all.

Congrats bro! :)
Thanks!! :)
Mubarik, mubarik :)
Thank you :)
heartiest congratulations Salman :) a win well deserved!
Congrats man! :)
Thanks fellas :)
Congratulations! If you don’t mind me asking, why weren’t you able to attend? I know if I was invited to something like this, I’d pretty much drop everything and run, haha.
I couldn’t because it’s a 16-hour journey by train to the venue and I’ve semester finals coming up in a week. SO naturally, I had to decide otherwise :(
Lol, I’d still put semester finals on hold. What are you majoring in? Anything you could relate to blogging? (And thus use the awards as a valid excuse for not doing your best on the tests?)
this means pizza salu… :D and btw you should greatly thank HER , the way she campaigned for your blog, i bet she even made her neighbourhoodz jamadaar to vote for you atleast a dozen times ;P
Lol. Thanks. I’m indeed indebted to her. However, as a matter of fact, the content counted more than votes as far as the judges were concerened ;)
Agreed. Judges decision mattered 50% and so did the votes. But the judges had an upper hand. “The judges may be subjective and assert their power to make a low vote/viewed blog win if they feel that the blog/blogger meets their own standards.” Salman won ’cause he has an awesome blog with an awesome content (:
yeah yeah! we all know you’re good with conetent.. show off ;p contratulations anyway, it was a well deserved one.
Congrats. Pity you couldnt come down and accept the Oscar style statue in person. I hear they were also giving out hash brownies and spiked the fruit punch….oh wait, that was the Corporate Event next door.
If I’d known about the hash brownies, I surely may have decided otherwise!! :D
Great blog!

Congrats, buddy! :)
Hey thanks :)
P.S. The votes only added to its awesomeness. (:
Well…your votes counted alot. It also brought me many readers I believe :P
@Willowbatel
Lol. Well…I’m a software engineer to-be. That is indeed related to blogging, but only remotely. And hence, the award would make but a very poor excuse for not doing well in the semester, which I don’t anyway :D
