The scent of freedom

Whenever I look at this photograph, I realize how beautiful life is. If only we pause for a moment and contemplate, we would find that there are innumerable things to look at and extract joy from. In the daily monotony of life, we dwell too much upon that which is too unimportant. And these many insignificant things add up to weigh down upon our happiness.
And it actually depends solely upon us; whether to find joy out of life or to dot it with unhappiness. ‘Carpe Diem’, to live in the moment – to enjoy that what is and not to singe your self over that what could’ve been. That’s what constitutes the principle of happiness.

The same thoughts have been comforting me for the last few weeks. I felt stronger when some dear ones sought my advice (I am good at pretending to be strong). However, our knowledge won’t be of much help when we are in the middle of some serious worry/tension. Then your perspective would be entirely different and the same photo can have a different interpretation (like the sailors – the Rime of the Ancient Mariner).
Shall I make a guess? Right now you are happy and tension free, right? Let that mood stay forever!
Well…not the knowledge perhaps but the ability to reason with one’s self can perhaps at occasions deliver us from the grief. And yes, things change meaning as we face different situations, that’s very true! :)
And well yes…I’m fairly happy, better than my usual mood. So you are right! :P

Life is beautiful. Agreed, But crows have never triggered a peaceful feeling in my mind ;)
From the size of wings of these birds, I think these are not crows but eagles :P
Nonetheless, beauty lies in the eyes of beholder ;)
Unless you’re living below the poverty line, life certainly is beautiful. In other words, I’m really sorry I kicked in some realism here. :P
Lol yeah well…that’s true. In fact, I can’t even tell if it’s true since I can’t fully relate with such a person until I occupy his vocation. Empathy goes only so far..
life is beautiful only if you dont hate being a woman.
I bet you wouldn’t hate it if you weren’t in a society like ours :(
@sidra that sounds really depressing.. why?
I’m feeling too drained to write a nice comment. Just that I read this post (and a couple of others) and I think you write really well!
Thanks for dropping by and liking, Tazeen! :)
I get the feeling you are talking about when i drive past my local primary school and see kids playing… so much innocence and not a care in the world.. and no idea of what is to come in life…
It’s those moments when u look back in life and realise your childhood was the epitome of innocence.. a time you will never get back
You can find beauty and peace in many things my dear friend but reality will always bring you back with a thud.. to this drudgery of a life…
That’s very true. The most joyous moments are most fleeting. But then again, it’s these brief, occasional moments of joy, of beauty, amid this drudgery, this utter meaningless, that we find our solace. Or life would be hell on this earth…
Be nice to life and life will be nice to you.
True :) But sometimes, life’s not very fair…
Superb!!!..And what you wrote is completely true..I liked this post..:)
Thank you Jahan! :)
life is lovely.
I am like ripping your whole blog apart. lol sorry if you are getting crazy amounts of notifications.
Lol it’s actually really good to know that someone is actually reading all the clap-trap that I’ve been writing on my blog :P
